CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Chickasaw County man is in London going for the gold.
Shaquille Vance, a former high school wide receiver and linebacker for the Houston Hilltoppers football team, is competing in the Paralympics in London.
Vance suffered an injury in 2009 and had to have his right leg amputated above the knee.
In his first event Friday, he came in sixth place in the shotput.
He will compete in the 200 meter finals Saturday and the 100 meters next Friday.
