HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A longtime state legislator from northeast Mississippi has died.
Officials with Houston Funeral Home confirms former State Rep. William "Billy" Bowles died Sunday morning.
Originally from the Thorn community, Bowles served in the legislature for 20 years.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Houston Funeral Home.
The funeral service will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Houston 1st United Methodist Church.
Bowles was 78 years old.
