VARDAMAN, Miss. (WTVA) -- More jobs may be on the horizon for Vardaman-based Furniture Wood, Incorporated.

The company was recently acquired by United Furniture Industries.

Furniture Wood may be adding up to 15 more jobs should they move forward with plans to add a night shift.

Those new jobs could become available within the next few weeks.

Currently, there are 130 employees who make scores of frames for the upholstered industry.

The company manufacturers 3,000 frames daily.

"United is a fast-track moving company and major player in the furniture industry and as they grow, we plan to grow with them," Vice President and General Manager Rusty Wise said.

Furniture Wood, Incorporated began operations in Vardaman back in 1978.
