VARDAMAN, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two Jackson residents face charges of robbery following a Sunday night incident in Calhoun County.
Vardaman Police Chief Kenny Scott says James Cody Bourgeois, 18, and Ronald Potter, 36, are accused of taking the wallet and cellphone from an elderly man.
Scott says the two men beat up the 70-year-old during an altercation around 7 p.m. at a home on Richard Street.
The chief says the man suffered a head injury and was unconscious for over an hour.
Scott says the man went to a neighbors home to get help.
Potter was arrested Sunday night on a county road near the town and Bourgeois was arrested Monday at a Vardaman home.
Both men remain in the Calhoun County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
