PITTSBORO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Calhoun County jury has found a man guilty of murder for stabbing another man to death with a screwdriver.

The jury returned the verdict Thursday afternoon in the trial of Andy Nichols Brown, 30, in Calhoun County Circuit Court.

Brown was arrested in April of 2012 and charged in the death of Earlie Balford, 68.

Balford was stabbed to death inside his home in Pittsboro.

Following the verdict, Brown was sentenced to life in prison.

He remains in the Calhoun County jail until he is turned over to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
