PITTSBORO, Miss. (WTVA) -- After deliberations on Wednesday afternoon a jury has returned a verdict in the trial of man on manslaughter charges.

Assistant District Attorney Ben Creekmoore says Melvin Bailey, 34, of Calhoun City was found not guilty in the death of Malcolm Belim, 22.

Authorities say they received a call to the Oakwood Apartments around 10 p.m. on February 18, 2011.

Officers says Belim had been shot in the chest.

Calhoun City police say they recovered a weapon they believe was used in the shooting.
