PITTSBORO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Calhoun County E911 officials say the system will have to be replaced after an apparent lightning strike over the weekend.

Wayne Stone, 911 Coordinator, says the phone lines are still in operation.

He says the enhanced portions of the system however such as GPS and caller ID on cellphones is down.

Stone says when people call from a home phone, the number does show but dispatchers have to do a quick database search to get the address.

He did not give a timeline for when the system would be replaced.
