New Albany (WTVA) -- Sheriff Jimmy Edwards says a 27-year-old woman has been arrested in the death of Deputy Clinton Frazier.

Edwards says Deputy Frazier was trying to pull Crystil M. Byers of Myrtle over during a traffic stop when he crashed his police cruiser.

Frazier died around 9 p.m. Wednesday night on Highway 178 just inside the Myrtle city limits.

Byers is charged with culpable negligent man-slaughter and leaving the scene of a traffic fatality. Her bond is set at $375,000.

Judge Chris Childers announced her preliminary hearing will be in January.
