ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two north Mississippi residents are in critical condition after a one-vehicle accident Friday night, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The crash took place east of the Corinth city limits on Highway 72 at approximately 11:15 p.m.

Trooper Ray Hall says Matthew Linton, 26, of Burnsville, was driving eastbound when he apparently lost control of his truck. The forces caused the vehicle to overturn several times.

Linton and passenger Billy Lambert, 50, also of Burnsville, were both ejected from the vehicle.

Hall said both were airlifted to the Med in Memphis and are listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Hall said neither occupant wore a seat belt.
