RIENZI, Miss. (WTVA) - There were a variety of floats and attractions at this year's Rienzi Christmas parade.
"We just let anybody come in because we want everybody to feel welcome in this town," said resident Melissa Whitten.
"We enjoy the whole parade. It has gotten more horses each year and I don't know why its gotten more. But, we really enjoy watching them," stated resident Melissa Styers.
"We love to watch the men on the horses make them come through don't we Mia?," said Lisa Palmer, Rienzi resident. "Yeah, I like to watch it," added her daughter.
Some say the horses give a feel of the wild, wild west.
"Oh, it just gets back to old times," adds J.T. Hamm, Alcorn County resident. "[The] slower pace of life just seeing how things use to be."
"Sometimes they have some little miniature horses, dogs that they walk through," said Palmer. "We have a lot of different things that would attract everybody."
There is another attraction that gets kids excited for the holiday.
"Well we always love to see Santa Claus because we know it's just a short time before he gets to come see us. So, we're excited about him," Whitten said.
