CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- An Alcorn County principal fired last month is back on the school district's payroll.
Alcorn School Board Attorney James Price tells WTVA.com Dan Burcham has requested a hearing over his termination last month.
Price says under state law, Burcham's termination is on hold until a resolution of the hearing.
Burcham was the principal at the Alcorn Center Middle School when he was suspended last month.
He was fired shortly afterward by school superintendent Gina Rogers Smith.
School officials would not release the reason for the suspension or termination because it is a personnel matter.
Burcham will receive his pay from the date of his termination until a decision is rendered following the hearing.
Price says he is not working at the school.
The hearing was originally set for March 20th, but Price say it had to be canceled because of a scheduling conflict.
A new date will be decided by Price and Burcham's attorney.
