CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- A three-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon on Highway 72 ends with one person dead and seven injured.
Alcorn County Coroner Jay Jones says it happened at about 3:45 p.m.
Jones said it appeared one of the vehicles was turning off Highway 72 onto County Road 400/Salem Road when a car came over the hill and rear-ended them, pushing the original vehicle into the other lane.
At that point, another vehicle slammed into the side of the first one.
The rear seat passenger in the original vehicle, identified as 44-year-old Theresa Lahey of Walnut, died after being transported to Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
Jones said everyone else had non life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Corinth Police Department.
