ALCORN COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- The principal of an Alcorn County school has been fired by the school district's superintendent.
Alcorn School District board member Randy Wilbanks said Alcorn Central Middle School Principal Dan Burcham has been terminated.
Wilbanks said the superintendent, not the school board, made the decision to fire Burcham.
Wilbanks would not say why the principal was let go.
Earlier this week, the Daily Corinthian reported Burcham had been suspended, but no reason was given for that either.
