Man pleads guilty to Corinth murder

CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) — A Corinth man has pleaded guilty in the shooting death of another man in April of 2012.

Norman Tyrone Mitchell, 37, entered a guilty plea to murder in the shooting death of Tavarus Holland, 29, of Corinth.

Mitchell was arrested on April 21, 2012 after Holland was shot once outside the American Legion building on South Tate Street in the early morning hours.

Holland later died at a Corinth hospital.

Following the plea, Mitchell was sentenced to serve life in prison by Alcorn County Circuit Judge Thomas Gardner III.
