CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Corinth man is facing kidnapping charges after a woman confronted him about tools taken from her vehicle.

Police Captain Ralph Dance says Joseph Doug Tapp, 32, was arrested following the incident in the parking lot of a local shopping center.

He says it appears Tapp was walking through the parking lot peaking into cars looking for items to take.

Dance says Tapp apparently took a bag of tools from one vehicle.

Someone told a woman the items were taken from her car and she approached Tapp.

Dance says the man pushed the woman into his vehicle and drove out of the parking lot to another location.

He say the woman was pushed out of the car, along with the tools.

Dance says the woman was not injured.

Tapp was arrested a short time later.

Dance says the man was currently out on bond for a previous auto burglary charge and now faces kidnapping charges.
