CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- An Alcorn County grand jury will review evidence gathered in a Tuesday night shooting in Corinth.

Police Captain Ralph Dance says they released Akeem Garth, 21, who says he shot Travis Willis, 26, and Wesley Stover, 27, during an altercation around 5 p.m. at a home on Forrest School Road.

Police officers responding to the scene found Garth in the middle of the road waving his hands.

They say Garth had blood coming from his face and he told them he had shot two people after they attacked him.

Dance says it appears Willis and Stover went to the home after a woman told them Garth had assault her.

He says witnesses point toward self-defense in the shooting, but the evidence will be presented to the grand jury next month to see if any charges will be filed in the case.
