CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- The 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks is Wednesday.

North Mississippi VISTA and Project Attention built a memorial garden for children who died on 9/11 as a community service project.

The two groups also held a ceremony to honor the victims at the Project Attention building in Corinth Saturday.

VISTA worker Amy Bonds says community service is one way to remember 9/11 victims.

"9-11 is a day of service where you can give back to your community in remembrance," Bonds said. "This was a community service project."

Bonds says the project took about two weeks to finish.

She says many businesses in Corinth came together to sponsor the memorial garden.
