CORINTH, Miss. (AP) -- Tourism officials in Corinth are trying to develop more powerful ways of attracting tourists to the northeast corner of the state.

The Daily Corinthian reports the Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau wants them not only to come, but to stay a while and spread their spending around area businesses and attractions.

Focusing on developing a strategy to get the greatest return for investment in marketing is the key, board member Ricky James says.

The bureau is hammering out its strategy with new board members after the office went through an overhaul earlier this year.

And it wants to involve restaurants and hotels more in the process.
