CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- An Alcorn County man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping a woman who accused him of taking tools from her vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center earlier this year.

Joseph Doug Tapp, 32, entered the guilty plea during a hearing in Alcorn County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Tap was arrested in February after authorities say he forced the woman into his truck and drove to another location before letting her go.

The woman had been told by someone Tapp had taken a bag of tools from her vehicle.

Police say the woman was not injured in the incident.

Tapp was sentenced to 11 years in prison during the Tuesday hearing.
