CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Corinth man is facing charges in connection with a shooting at an apartment last month.
Corinth Police Captain Ralph Dance says Frederick Patteron, 49, of Mitchell Street is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Patterson is facing charges in the August 28 shooting of Randy Young of Senatobia.
The men were at a gathering on Pierce Street in the Coombs Court Apartments.
Patterson apparently followed Young and a woman out of the apartment and threatened to shoot them.
Young tackled Patterson and during the insuing scuffle, Patterson shot Young in the back and chest.
Patterson suffered serious injuries to his face during the altercation and authorities were waiting for him to undergo surgery before charging him in the incident.
Dance says Patterson was arrested after he left the hospital and didn't intend to undergo the procedures.
Patterson is currently being held on a $75,000 bond.
