CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- The annual Corinth Grand Illumination event will not take place this year.

The Corinth Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau made the announcement this week.

CACVB Director of Tourism Christy Burns says the group was notified in July the National Park Service was pulling its financial support for the event.

She says they attempted to find someone to fill the park service's roll, but there was not enough time to put on the event this year.

Burns say they do plan on bringing the Grand Illumination back in the future.
