Alabama election results

Voters across Alabama were having to settle some Republican runoffs for state offices, and voters in Lamar County had a couple of local races to settle as well.

ALABAMA (WTVA) - Voters across Alabama were having to settle some Republican runoffs for state offices, and voters in Lamar County had a couple of local races to settle as well.

The most heated runoff was for Lieutenant Governor between Public Service Commission President Twinkle Cavanaugh and State Representative Will Ainsworth.

Unofficial results show Ainsworth advancing to the November general election.

Another statewide race was the GOP nomination for Attorney General where incumbent Steve Marshall is trying to fend off a challenge from former attorney general Troy King.

Unofficial results have Marshall moving on to November.

And the Republican runoff for probate judge between Sharon Nethery and Terry Roberts goes to Nethery.

MYRTLE, Miss (WTVA) -- Voters in Myrtle hit the polls to elect two people for the city's Board of Aldermen. 

Unofficial results have Mack McDonald and Cynthia Parks as the top two vote-getters and will now sit on the Board of Aldermen.

There were 50 votes total in Tuesday's race.

McDonald received 40 votes.

Parks got 36.

And Brandon Hancock received 15 votes.

There will be no runoff election.
