TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi state flag is flying again at the Tupelo Police Department.
Some like the idea while others don’t. We reached out to police to get their response.
Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre told us that last year the department flew the state bicentennial flag and should have taken it down on December 10.
They replaced it with the state flag on January 1st of this year.
The chief says that it's city council policy to fly the state flag, which was established by way of an ordinance in 2016.
The chief did not wish to be interviewed on camera.
