Dozens arrested as part of multi-agency operation

A multi-agency operation led to dozens of arrests in Starkville.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - A multi-agency operation led to dozens of arrests in Starkville.

Between August 2 and August 3, Starkville police, the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshals conducted operations “focused on lowering criminal activity.”

During the day, officers served outstanding warrants and indictments. During the night, officers focused on high-crime areas.

In total, 47 people were arrested and approximately 62 traffic citations were issued.

The following are results from the operations:

· Sale of cocaine
· Possession of meth
· Aggravated assault
· Burglary
· Sale of counterfeit
· Trafficking stolen firearms
· Sale of meth x2
· Armed robbery

17 arrests – Starkville Police

· Probation violation
· Contempt of court
· Disturbance of the peace x2
· Speeding
· Disorderly conduct x3
· DUI x3
· Trespassing
· Failure to yield (warrant)
· No driver's license (warrant) x2
· Speeding (warrant)

18 arrests – Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department

· Possession of cocaine
· Armed robbery
· Possession of weapon by felon x2
· DUI x2
· Simple assault
· DUI 2nd
· Possession of marijuana in motor vehicle
· Aggravated assault x2
· Burglary
· Possession of controlled substance
· Animal cruelty
· Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
· Trespassing x2
