Coats donated for Disney On Ice tickets

More than 1,300 coats were donated for people in need in North Mississippi.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Thursday is opening night for Disney On Ice at the BancorpSouth Arena and many braved the chilly morning temperatures to donate a coat for a free ticket.

People lined up starting at 5 a.m. for the event that started at 6:30 a.m.

Two-hundred tickets were given away in the first 10 minutes and all of the free ticket vouchers were gone by 7:30 a.m.

Folks continued to drop off coats until 9 a.m. with a total of more than 1,300 coats donated today.
