WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - West Point police were dispatched Thursday night at 10:57 to a shooting incident on 5th Street.
According to the police departments' Twitter page, one female was shot during this incident. Police later identified the victim as Leslie Cox. She was shot in the forearm. She has since been released from the hospital.
Police say the shooting was a result of a family dispute. Police say Cox and the suspect are related and she was not the intended target.
Later Thursday, police confirmed the suspect surrendered to police. He's identified as Michael Bradshaw. His charges are unknown at this time.
"It was several people out. It could have been anybody. A bullet has no names," said West Point Police Chief Avery Cook.
Bradshaw is charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $10,000.
Bradshaw has bonded out.
This case is being investigated by the West Point Police Department.
