TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - A large donation was given to the family of a Tupelo Middle School student who was shot last year.
Keshun Vasser, 12, and his family were given a check worth $50,000 to help the family buy a wheelchair-accessible van to help Vasser move around.
Following Friday's "Making a Difference" segment on WTVA 9 News, an anonymous donor contacted an organizer to help Vasser.
A special presentation was held Wednesday morning at Tupelo Middle School.
"The plan is to get him a wheelchair-accessible van so he can be out and enjoy his life and be a typical teenager," said Teetta Vasser, his mother.
Chaquita Bobo says it was an exciting moment.
"That is amazing. God is good."
Vasser says he would like to thank the person who made the donation and everyone who made it happen.
"It's very great because I can go to places that I usually can't go, and I can help my mom and make her happy and make myself happy," he said.
