Mississippi TV, LLC in Tupelo, Mississippi has an immediate opening for an Assistant Chief Engineer.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Operations and Technology in all areas of IT and broadcast engineering
Perform facilities maintenance
Assist personnel with operational issues
Troubleshoot and repair equipment/systems
Manage assigned engineering projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Must be able to work effectively in a complex 24/7 news environment
Knowledge of Windows Server a plus
Must be familiar with TCP/IP Network topologies, VLANS and WAN/LAN switches, routers, firewalls
Knowledge of studio automation
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate solutions
Requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving. Must enjoy working with people and assisting staff with technical support issues
Must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision
Must be able to work under time pressure deadlines and be willing and able to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidays. Individual could be asked to be on call.
Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of Mississippi
Requires three years of experience in the installation and maintenance of digital television systems in a broadcast environment
